[ARCHIVED] Holiday Magic in Winter Haven: December City Events Schedule

The City of Winter Haven is excited to announce a series of festive events throughout December, inviting the community to join in the holiday spirit.

Annual Tree Lighting- November 30

In partnership with Main Street, the city will host the Annual Tree Lighting in Central Park. Starting at 6pm, the first 100 attendees will receive free cookies and hot chocolate. Local artist Hunter Smith will perform at 6:30pm, followed by the Tree Lighting countdown at 7pm and a Holiday sing-along.

Winter Haven Wonderland - December 1

The second annual Winter Haven Winter Wonderland will feature food vendors, crafts, and a chance to write letters to Santa at Central Park from 6pm. A screening of “Frozen” will highlight the evening. Community members are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs to view the movie.

Ice Skating - December 2 and 3

Experience ice-skating in the heart of the city with an artificial ice rink in the South Parking Piazza. For $15, enjoy 30 minutes of skating (skates provided) on Saturday (10am-9pm) and Sunday (10am-4pm).

Christmas Boat Parade - December 2

The annual Christmas Boat Parade starts at 6:30pm, moving through Lakes May, Howard, and Shipp. Viewpoints include Lake Heritage Park, the dock behind McDonald’s on Lake Howard, and Lake Shipp Park. Interested participants can register on the city's website or Facebook page until November 29.

Menorah Lighting - December 7

Join us at 5:30pm in Central Park for the Menorah Lighting, celebrating the beginning of Hanukkah.

Havendale Christmas Parade - December 8

Co-hosted with the city of Auburndale, the parade starts at 7pm at Spring Haven, travels along Havendale Boulevard, and concludes at Publix on Havendale and 42nd Street. Roads close at 6pm.

Parking Information

For downtown events, parking is available on the streets surrounding Central Park, the downtown parking garage, and the parking piazzas near the Winter Haven Library in Magnolia Park.
