GRANT AND AID APPLICATION REVIEW COMMITTEE (GAARC)
Vacancy
The City of Winter Haven currently has one (1) seat available on its Grant and Aid Application Review Committee (GAARC). Please note this seat will be filled based on qualified applications and each member serves a single three-year term to start on October 1, 2025, and expires on September 30, 2028. This committee meets at least annually, once in October and three times in May or June. The committee is responsible for reviewing 50-100 nonprofit applications for Grant & Aid annually. The committee meetings are held at Winter Haven City Hall, 451 Third Street NW.
The GAARC, established by Resolution R-22-19 and amended by Resolution R-25-48, provides guidance and recommendations to the City Commission, staff and community on items such as:
- Review applications submitted for the City’s Grant and Aid Program;
- Make recommendations to the City Commission for appropriation of City funds to local not-for-profit entities that submit applications for funding from the City’s Grant and Aid Program.
If you are a resident, property owner, or business owner within the city limits of Winter Haven and are interested in serving on this Committee, applications may be obtained as follows:
All completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk by October 31, 2025. All applications will be reviewed by the Grant and Aid Application Review Committee, with an official recommendation being presented to the City Commission.
