[ARCHIVED] City Responds to Pet Health Concerns Tied to Tap Water

City Water Questions - Reach Out Graphic (1)

Over the past few days, a few residents have reached out with concerns about their pets’ health — specifically wondering if their tap water could be the cause.

We can see how much our community loves their pets, and we want to help bring peace of mind as you care for these important members of your family.

Here’s what we want you to know:

  • For every home we’ve tested where concerns were raised, results have come back with no issues. All routine testing across the system continues to meet regulated standards for ensuring water safety.
  • If you’re still concerned, please call us. We’re happy to test the water at your home and share those results with you directly. If anything shows up that needs attention, we’ll take care of it right away.
  • And while we can’t diagnose pets, we do know that many different things can cause stomach issues in dogs — so if you’re seeing symptoms, we encourage you to check in with your vet, too.
