Class Schedule 

Summer of 2025 

Session 1: June 2nd to June 13th 
Session 2: June 16th to June 27th 
Session 3: June 30th to July 11th 
Session 4: July 14th to July 25th

Registration Dates

Session 1

  • Opens May 27th and Closes May 28th 
  • Registration window is from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily on the registration dates. 

Session 2 

  • Opens June 10th and Closes June 11th  
  • Registration window is from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily on the registration dates.

Session 3 

  • Opens June 24th and Closes June 25th 
  • Registration window is from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily on the registration dates.

Session 4

  • Opens July 8th and Closes July 9th 
  • Registration window is from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily on the registration dates.

Class Levels Offered: 

PARENT & CHILD 

Ages 6 months to 2 years old 
The purpose of Parent and Child swim lessons is to teach safe behaviors in, on, and around the water, and to develop swimming readiness.
 Parents and children engage in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable with the water

PRESCHOOL

Ages 3 to 5 years old 
Preschool Lessons aim to promote the developmentally appropriate learning of fundamental water safety and aquatic skills by young children.
Preschool Swim Lesson skills include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Entering and exiting the water using steps & side
    • Blowing bubbles
    • Submersion
    • Front and back floating
    • Combined arms and leg actions front and back
    • Back glide with recovery
    • Treading

LEARN TO SWIM

This level is aimed for participants who need basic beginner lessons. The level helps students feel comfortable in the water.
Skills such as floating, swimming on front and back, and submerging face/head are done with assistance from the instructor.

This level gives students independent success with fundamental skills. 
Level 2 students are starting to be comfortable in the water and will perform some skills independently.
Students entering Level 2 can fully submerge their face, float with very little assistance, and are ready to learn more independently.

Level 3 - Stroke Development 

This level builds on skills from Level 2 & develops strokes through additional guided practice. 
Students entering Level 3 are able to swim front crawl for 15 yards, can submerge underwater comfortably, and are independent in the water. 

Level 4 - Stroke Improvement

This level develops confidence and strength to improve skills learned and introduces new aquatic skills.
Students entering Level 4 are able to swim front crawl for 25 yards (one length of the pool), swim underwater, tread water, and float comfortably.

Level 5 - Stroke Refinement 

This level gives students the opportunity to refine all six swimming strokes and practice swimming for longer distances. 
Each class is loaded with engaging and challenging activities and drills to build endurance and improve technique.

Class Structure

Classes are held Monday - Friday, in two week intervals
Class duration is 30 minutes 
Class size will be no more than 8 participants per 1 instructor

 Fees

(per two week session)
Residents : $35 
Non-Residents : $44

How To Register

Due to each class only allotting a certain amount of spots, classes will be based on a first come first serve basis. 

Once you submit the waiver online you will be put on a waitlist.

Waivers are time stamped on the waitlist in the order that they are submitted.

If you are wanting to enroll more than one person in swim lessons, you must fill out a waiver for each participant and submit it. The time-stamp from the first participant’s application will be used for each additional participant.

ALL fields on the waiver must be filled out in order for the waiver to be submitted. If you are a City of Winter Haven resident you must upload two proofs of residency with the waiver. EX: Drivers License, Water Bill, Electric Bill, voters ID.

  • If you do not have two of the following proofs of residency, call the office at (863)-268-6766 for approval of another form.

Once the Aquatic staff start receiving waivers, we will then start calling individuals to discuss the class, class time, and participants abilities in the water to ensure you’re signing up for the correct class.

The phone call will also consist of the staff fully registering the participant and taking payment.

Please note that if the staff in unable to reach you via phone call, you will have 24 hours to respond or your spot will be given to the next person in line.
