About the Airport

Winter Haven Regional Airport - Gilbert Field (GIF) is located in Central Florida, close to the geographical center of the state. Its close proximity to the many attractions, such as LEGOLAND, Disney World, SeaWorld, Universal Orlando, and Busch Gardens, makes the Winter Haven Regional Airport a great place to land.

GIF was classified by the FAA as a Regional General Aviation Airport due to its support to the regional economy by connecting the community to statewide and interstate markets. The Airport helps to keep existing employers in the community and attract new ones to the region because companies value the transportation and competitive business advantages offered by general aviation airports.

The airport continues to grow. The plans for the future include not only major improvements to the airfield, but improvement of existing facilities and the addition of facilities for aeronautical and non-aeronautical businesses. The airport is positioning itself to accommodate aircraft/parts manufacturers and distributors, repair stations, educational institutions, hotels, retail stores, and others.
